Hey! My name is Willemijn, and I am an illustrator and a person who stutters from the Netherlands. In 2019, I created the Instagram account @juststutter, and posted my first illustration (a comic) about stuttering. I made that comic after being in an uncomfortable situation that happened because of my stutter. Creating the comic allowed me to take back control of the situation and express my thoughts and frustrations. Since then, I have made over 130 comics about stuttering, and they have helped me to grow confidence and practice kindness towards myself. A lot of the stories featured in the comics are inspired by messages from my followers who stutter, who I really enjoy collaborating with. Besides online comics, I have made videos, animations, postcards, a comic book, and a self-published magazine. My hope is that I can be there for others through my art, and that my art can help people to be more kind towards themselves.
